Council Meetings

Posted on May 13, 2020

Travel restrictions and safe meeting practices have changed how our Council does its work. Our regular quarterly meetings have shifted to conference calls to accommodate our members in both Aklavik, Inuvik, and Whitehorse. Further, to make these meetings more manageable, we have shortened these calls to a half-day. This is a big change from our regular three-day meetings. In order to keep up with Council business, we now hold these calls once a month.

Normally, we encourage public attendance to our meetings but this new format isn't particularly conducive to just dropping in. We would like to maintain our transparency and openness, though. Staff are glad to respond to questions about Council projects and regular business. We will also be using this time to increase our outreach capacity, particularly with the communities in the Inuvialuit Settlement Region. Please check our News page and our Facebook page for all kinds of info and updates.
